New Arrivals

Errazuriz  Aconcagua Alto Carmenère 2014 at £17.99 bottle. Red fruit aromas with spicy notes of paprika, black pepper, nutmeg, and anise. There is rich acidity & a juicy palate of ripe black fruits such as blueberries, plums, and figs over a spicy base. Fine-grained tannins lead to a moderately persistent finish with subtle notes of mocha. This is a complex and elegant wine that promises long life in the bottle. offer at £13.99 bottle.

La Croix Bonis St Estephe Bordeaux 2012 at £23.99 bottle. Parcels of vines on the Phélan-Ségur estate are used for this second label. The wine, with its firm tannins, is developing well. It has structure and a dense texture along with ripe blackberry fruits and balancing acidity. As it develops, it will become generous and whole ensemble will marry together. It could be drunk now but would benefit from another 18 months in the cellar (2018).

La Rose de Gruaud St Julien Bordeaux 2012 at £31.00 bottle. Luscious and seductive, cassis and blackcurrant aromas give way to some dusty cedar and notes of Indian spices; classic Gruaud Larose! There is an upfront sweetness to the palate with a deep core of black fruit that is guided by fine tannins. Good acidity, good tannic grip, freshness and lots of breed and elegance, suggesting this will age superbly. The grapes for Larose de Gruaud are estate-grown, hand-picked at maturity and agricultural practices: no pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.Drinking now but would benefit from a further 18 months in the cellar

Mercurey Buissonnier  Vignerons de Buxy Burgundy 2013 at £15.99 bottle. This wine is light, silky & refreshing, all bright fruit and crisp acidity. An attractive herbal element contrasts with the red currant fruit flavours. Drinking from 2016 to 2018.

New Zealand

Cloudy Bay Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014 at £28.99 bottle.  “The harvest of 2014 supplied our best Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir to date. The picking of Pinot Noir began on March 9th and was completed by April 1st. The timing was perfect as significant rainfall arrived on April 9th.Powerful bouquet and a wide selection of flavours , from the lighter spectrum of rose, violet and ripe berry fruit to dark cherry with a hint of luscious plum.” Cloudy Bay Vineyards 2016. This has to be their best Pinot Noir yet!

Cloudy Bay Te Koko Marlborough 2013 at £31.00 bottle. “Cloudy Bay broke the winemaking rules to create a sophisticated style of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc made through wild fermentation and aging in old French oak. Juicy, with mouth watering notes of nectarine, kaffir lime and lemongrass. A round and creamy mouth feel complimented by a gentle minerality, while the nervy acidity contributes to a youthful and vibrant finish” Cloudy Bay Vineyards 2016.
