New Arrivals

Château Mahon~Laville 2015 Bordeaux Superiore at 13.99 bt. Jean-Christophe Barbe’s original 1.3 hectares of red grape varieties are located at Laville on a plot of land called Mahon, hence the name. The wine is a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and it is startlingly good for a Bordeaux Rouge at this price. Good colour a classic nose and ripe, supple fruit on the palate with the sort of grip on the finish that reminds you that you are drinking a claret.

Château Mouras Graves 2014 at 19.99 bottle. Jean-Christophe Barbe is professor of Oenology at Bordeaux University he has just six hectares of red grape varieties in the little communes of Portets, Illats et Landiras. The average age of the vines is 20 years old.  This wine has a lovely berry fruit on the nose and a supple texture on the palate with the attractive mineral character that defines the appellation of Graves. Dark fruit and spice dominate the mid-palate providing excellent depth that is supported by firm but ripe tannins.

Château Plaisance Bordeaux 2015 at 12.99 bottle. Fruity and appealing claret, with fresh red berried fruits complemented by a hint of liquorice. The Merlot contributes the ripe, approachable fruit and supple tannins, while the Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure. The result is a beautifully balanced wine with a refreshing finish.

Louis Jadot Pouilly~Fuissé 2016  Usual Price 25.99 Our Price 21.99 bottle.  A rich, creamy and complex.Partially barrel fermented with a further 6 months in oak casks. One of Burgundy's most famous wines, named after the villages of Pouilly and Fuissé. Emerald-gold tones for this wine of finesse and distinction. With aromas of hazelnuts, toasted almonds, grapefruit and lemon, the wine has palate flavours that are harmonious, fresh and full. This deserves to sit next to a Dover Sole!

Bollinger Grand Année 2007 Usual Price 80.00 Our Price 72.50 bottle. Bollinger have bucked the trend of releasing a 2006 Grand Année, selecting instead to release this fabulous 2007. Chiming well with this vintages restraint - Bollinger have created a beautiful vintage champagne. Well-cut acidity and a fine texture leaving you gasping for more of this delightful, just intense enough, just broad enough juice. Loaded with bright fruit notes and more herbaceous foresty notes. A great champagne for drinking now and over the next five years.
